Grand Opening of Blooming Dragon Emporium

Florist, Miranda Marsico, owner of Bloomz by Miranda, and jewelry artist, Marti Icenogle, owner of Magickal Dragon Designs, have formed a business partnership to open the Blooming Dragon Emporium at 5620 E. Washington Street in Irvington. Both Marti and Miranda were formerly located in the Shops at Snips. Their new shop unofficially opened on September 13th, and now they are planning for their grand opening to coincide with the Irvington Halloween Festival on October 25th. As part of the grand opening, the Blooming Dragon Emporium is holding a contest to name their flower breathing dragon. There will be entry forms available in their shop on October 7. The contest is open to all ages and the prize for the winning name is a gift basket filled with herbal products, fresh flowers and a unisex gemstone necklace. The winner will be announced on Halloween with the winning name displayed in the shop window.

By combining their artistic talents and business enterprises, Miranda and Marti are offering one-stop shopping for unique and unusual flowers, gifts and art by local artists and artisans. The Blooming Dragon Emporium will be open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 6:00 with hours extended until 8:00 pm Thursday and Friday. The shop will also be open Sunday, noon to 3:00 pm

Miranda will continue to offer fresh flowers daily with delivery available. She specializes in weddings and events. To Miranda, all of her floral arrangements are works of art. She really enjoys celebrating the majesty of nature in her floral creations and is happy to share her knowledge of the language of flowers with community and business groups.

Marti’s fine silver and fused glass jewelry will be available in the shop. She also enjoys sharing her skills and creative vision and will be offering a variety of jewelry-making classes in her studio space. In addition to her jewelry making-classes, Marti will also be offering some stamp-making and herbal classes.

Blooming Dragon Emporium will showcase a wide array of art and gifts by local artists and artisans, including painter, Steven Keller, jewelry artist Kris Hubick, anime artists Kristin May and potter Lori Swan. The Emporium line will include recycled bags and purses by Freakin’ Billboards, and hand-made baby gifts by bellatots. The gift line will also include handcrafted greeting cards and a line of herbal bath and spa products.
